C. T. Hicks lived on Warren Street in DeRidder, LA. He drove a freight wagon, picking up freight at the depot and delivering it all over town. One day while working he went totally blind. His horses took him home. His wife knew something was wrong because he didn't come into the house. She went out to the wagon and discovered his blindness.
