FOUNT PITTS SMITHSON

FRANKLIN, Tenn.--Fount Pitts Smithson, 83, retired blacksmith and farmer of the Arrington community, died yesterday morning at Harris Convalescent home here after a long illness.

Funeral services will be at 2:30 p.m. today at Bethurun, Henry and Robinson funeral home. The Rev. Paul Sheppard will officiate. Burial will be in the Mount Hope cemetery.

Mr. Smithson was a native of Williamson county. His parents were Clem W. and Fannie Giles Smithson. He was a member of the Methodist church.

Survivors include his widow, Mrs. Annie Moss Smithson; a daughter, Mrs. James E. Harris, Smyrna, Tenn.; a son, Roy M. Smithson; three sisters, Mrs. W. D. Talley and Mrs. John W. Renolds both of Nashville, and Mrs. Bettie Walker, Caney Springs, Tenn.

ARRINGTON, TENN.

SMITHSON--Sat. morning, Dec. 15, 1956, in a local nursing home, Fount Pitts Smithson, 83 years of age. Survived by wife, Mrs. Annie Moss Smithson of Arrington; one daughter, Mrs. james E. Harris, Smyrna, Tenn.; one son, Roy M Smithson; three sisters, Mrs. W. D. Talley, Mrs. John W. Reynolds, both of Nashville, Mrs. Betty Walker of Caney Springs, Tenn. The remains are at the chapel of Bethurum Henry and Robinson, where funeral service will be conducted Sunday afternoon at 2:30 p.m. by Rev. Paul Shephard. The following Nephews will please serve as active pallbearers, James Cathey, Harold Green, Coy and Claude Smith, J. B. Smith, Ross, Paschall and Hugh Giles. Interment Mt. Hope cemetery. Bethurum, Henry and Robinson, funeral directors.

Martha Ann Moss was born on 11 Jun 1879 in Bon Aqua, Hickman, Tennessee. She died on 17 May 1969. She was buried on 18 May 1969 in Mount Hope Cemetary, Franklin, Williamson, Tennessee. She married Fountain Pitts Smithson on 13 May 1897 in Franklin, Williamson, Tennessee.
