Tennessee. In the Spring of 1836, the brothers Clement and John P.
Smithson,
returned to Virginia for a visit. While there Clement Jr. met and
married Mary Ann Smithson and John married Clarrisa Pettus. They
rode horses back with their brides to the 13th District in
Williamson Co., TN.
The printed index to 1850 shows the family under the Smithers name
and uses
only initials. Clement is age 45 in 1850 and 54 in 1860 Census. He
is a twin to Charles.
